Position Overview

LKB Engineering is seeking a Civil Transportation Engineer to support ongoing transportation and site development work across New York City, Long Island, and beyond. This role offers broad exposure to transportation infrastructure projects and the opportunity to build technical depth through close collaboration with senior engineers and project managers.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on experience, responsibilities may include:

  • Prepare roadway and highway alignment designs for transportation and site development projects
  • Design roadway pavement markings, signage, and traffic control plans
  • Develop and coordinate work zone traffic control in collaboration with traffic engineering staff
  • Coordinate roadway drainage and utility design with internal disciplines and external stakeholders
  • Prepare engineering reports, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents
  • Review work prepared by junior engineering staff and provide technical guidance as needed
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to support project delivery from design through construction
  • Coordinate with public agencies and participate in project meetings as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of four (4) years of relevant design experience
  • Experience working on transportation and/or site development projects
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD or MicroStation
  • Experience using Civil 3D and/or InRoads/OpenRoads
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Additional information

The projected hiring range for this position is $85K – $120K for a person who meets the requirements.
