Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Construction Inspector – NICET II to support roadway, bridge, and infrastructure projects throughout Long Island and the New York metropolitan area. This role is ideal for an inspector with strong field experience, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with contractors, clients, and project teams.

The successful candidate will perform daily inspection activities, maintain project documentation, verify compliance with plans and specifications, and assist project teams in delivering high-quality infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily construction inspection of roadway, drainage, traffic, and asphalt resurfacing work
  • Monitor contractor activities for compliance with plans, specifications, and applicable standards
  • Prepare detailed daily inspection reports and maintain accurate project records
  • Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and project stakeholders
  • Review and verify quantities for contractor payments
  • Observe and document materials testing and construction methods
  • Identify and report field issues and assist with resolution efforts

Qualifications

  • NICET Level II Certification in Construction Inspection or equivalent
  • Minimum 1–3 years of construction inspection experience
  • Working knowledge of NYSDOT and local municipal standards preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • ACI, OSHA 10/30, or other relevant certifications preferred
  • Experience with e-Builder, SiteManager, or similar construction management software preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field preferred

Compensation

Compensation: $36–$50 per hour, depending on experience and level. Final title and compensation will align with qualifications and responsibilities.
