Position Overview
LKB Engineering is seeking a Project Manager – Environmental Engineering to manage environmental and/or civil engineering projects involving design, permitting, and environmental monitoring and reporting. This role includes responsibility for managing multidisciplinary project teams, coordinating with clients and regulatory agencies, and contributing to business development, while supporting the firm’s long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage environmental and/or civil engineering projects, including project teams, deliverables, scopes, schedules, and budgets, and monitor project financial performance.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and coordinate with regulatory agencies, managing expectations related to scope, schedule, and deliverables.
- Prepare and review design plans, specifications, and engineer’s cost estimates for quality, completeness, and compliance.
- Prepare contract bid packages and funding applications.
- Prepare technical reports and environmental permit applications.
- Participate in proposal preparation and contribute to business development efforts.
- Coordinate work across internal disciplines and with external consultants as required.
- Provide day-to-day technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff as part of project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering, Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering is a plus.
- 10–15 years of related professional experience.
- New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Knowledge of applicable NYS regulations, specifications, and codes.
- Familiarity with standard engineering software and tools (Word, Excel, CAD, etc.).
- Prior experience with project management, technical writing, responsibilities outlined above, and business development is a plus.
Compensation
$90,000 – $150,000, depending on experience and level. Final title and compensation will align with qualifications and responsibilities.
