LKB has been retained to provide professional engineering services for the design of a new wastewater conveyance system to serve the Village of Greenport’s “Sandy Beach” Community, as well as two privately owned marinas. Major design elements include a gravity collection system, pump stations, low pressure sewer systems, and a force main that will be constructed under Stirling Harbor to convey wastewater to the Village’s Sewer Treatment Plant.
LKB is currently involved in the Conceptual Design Phase which entails preparing of construction cost estimates and meetings with project stakeholders. Upon completion of this phase, LKB will proceed to the Schematic Design Phase which will include coordination of utility mark-outs and soil borings, and the development of schematic design plans for review and approval by the Village.
During the Final Design Phase LKB will advance plans and specifications and prepare permit applications for the various Authorities Having Jurisdiction. A complete set of Construction Documents suitable for public bidding will be provided to the Village for the purpose of soliciting competitive bids, and LKB will assist in reviewing and comparing the bids received, and provide recommendations for awarding a construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder.
